Project Description
RDM has assisted the Division of Aviation (DOA) with continuous updates of the statewide Airport Pavement Management System since 2012. RDM teamed with DOA staff to develop a more comprehensive and efficient in-house approach to the program. In 2013/2014, the DOA enlisted the services of RDM to incorporate the Part 139 certificated airports into the program. As part of this assignment, RDM provided training to DOA staff on pavement inspections and distress identification. DOA staff inspected all General Aviation airports, and RDM inspected 11 of the Part 139 airports. RDM completed the analysis and reporting for all 69 airports in the program. In 2016, RDM received an additional task to update the program and conditions at the Part 139 airports only.
In 2019, RDM completed a contract to update the entire North Carolina Statewide Pavement Management Program at 11 Part 139 certificated and 58 general aviation airports. Field work, analysis and reporting was completed within 12 months of NTP and the contract was completed in March 2020 when specialized training was provided. All aspects of the project were completed on schedule and on budget.
