Project Description
RDM participated in this Design-Build project with a local paving contractor. RDM provided both functional and structural pavement evaluations to provide a comprehensive understanding of the condition of Runway 9L/27R. RDM prepared several pavement alternatives for the existing aircraft fleet mix and potential future aircraft fleet mixes. The goal of the University was to get as much runway rehabilitated within the project budget available. Work included the final pavement design, cross sections, drainage, pavement markings and safety/phasing plans. The resulted in 2,205’ of the 3,000’ long runway being rehabilitated for the budget available. During construction, RDM provided support to the Construction Inspection team.
