Project Description
RDM International, Inc., as a sub-consultant, performed civil engineering design and Construction Management services for a $138 million program to relocate the airports’ primary runway 702’ farther south. RDM performed surveys and analysis to design full pavement sections for the new runway, taxiways, ramps and perimeter road system. RDM also provided rehabilitation details for pavements that were to remain during the program. The new runway was the first in the United States to provide High Intensity LED Lighting for all lighting components included with the runway.
RDM staff provided construction management services on six of the enabling projects including construction of a 23-acre stormwater detention basin, realignment of a golf course and the conversion of the former runway to a parallel taxiway. Work included close coordination with FAA Engineering, Tech Ops and Flight Procedures.
